In this talk, Dr. San Luciano will delve into the fundamentals of Parkinson’s, from its characteristic symptoms to its treatments. She will explore how it impacts daily life and how to address the challenges posed by this neurodegenerative disease.
In esta charla, la Dra. San Luciano profundizará en los fundamentos del Parkinson, desde sus síntomas característicos hasta sus tratamientos. Explorará cómo afecta la vida diaria y cómo abordar los desafíos que plantea esta enfermedad neurodegenerativa.
Dr. San Luciano is a native Spanish speaker, and the Forum will be moderated by a native Spanish speaker.
Brief Bio
Dr. San Luciano specializes in diagnosing and managing movement disorders, including Parkinson’s disease, dystonia, tremor, and myoclonus. She focuses on patients of all ages and has a special interest in those with a genetic predisposition to Parkinson’s and dystonia. Dr. San Luciano earned her medical degree from the University of Navarra in Spain and a master’s degree in clinical research methods from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She completed her residency in neurology at Boston University Medical Center where she served as chief resident in her final year. She was a research and clinical fellow in movement disorders at Beth Israel Medical Center following her residency. Dr. San Luciano is actively involved in professional organizations such as the American Academy of Neurology and the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society. Her research interests include clinical and genetic epidemiology of movement disorders and neurodegenerative illnesses, as well as outcomes research in deep brain stimulation surgery for movement disorders.

Dra. San Luciano especializa en la diagnosis y el manejo de enfermedades de movimiento como la enfermedad de Parkinson (EP) Dra. San Luciano obtuvo su título de médico de la Universidad de Navarra en España y su maestría en investigación clínic del Colegio de Medicina de Albert Einstein Ella completó su residencia en neurología en el Centro de Medicina de la Universidad de Boston. Dra San Luciano es activa en la organización en la academia de neurología y la Sociedad Internacional de Parkinson y Enfermedades para el Movimiento.
