Steve Yellen, author of, Living Parkinson’s: Seven Strategies for Taking Control and Living Your Best Life, knows that Parkinson’s is different for everyone. His Living Parkinson’s framework serves as a flexible guide, helping each person discover the approaches that best fit their own unique symptoms, goals and lifestyle.
In this conversation, he’ll share seven practical tools shaped by his experience, current research and what he’s learned from others in the Parkinson’s community. He’ll also discuss ways to care for yourself, stay connected, advocate for your needs and take part in research that is helping shape the future.
Diagnosed with Parkinson’s in his mid-50s, Steve turned to data, research and personal experimentation to understand and manage the disease. Knowing that exercise is the only potential way to slow progression, he made fitness central to his life, training daily and competing in triathlons, obstacle course races and even racing up the Empire State Building stairs. His commitment extends beyond his own experience through his involvement in Parkinson’s advocacy, education and research.
